I’ve been photographing Cork for years and I still haven’t run out of things to point a camera at.

The obvious ones first. St Fin Barre’s and its spires, which everyone shoots, me included, and it’s still worth doing. City Hall from across the water when the light is going.

The English Market on a Saturday morning is all noise and fish counters and people getting in your way (that’s the good bit). They’d rather you didn’t take photos in there now.

The Lee splits into two channels around the city centre, which is handy. Twice the quays, twice the reflections.

There’s a lot of street art around town now and some of it is gorgeous. It changes with time, so photograph it when you see it.

Pubs are harder than people think. They’re dark, and you’ll be the eejit with the camera while everyone else is having a pint. Worth it now and then though.

You don’t need much gear either. Some of my favourite photos of the city were taken on a phone because that’s what was in my pocket at the time. Go for a walk and see what you get!
