Boy all alone on the street
Boy all alone It’s strange how you can be stuck in your own little world and not be aware of anything around you. All around this boy were couples, either hand in hand, walking together or even framing him in the middle of the image, but I’m struck by his solitary movement through the street….
The lady’s red boots
The lady’s red boots Sometimes on a cloudy and dark day something unexpected can brighten your day. These sexy red boots had that effect and I quickly grabbed this shot! I can’t imagine the pain of walking in shoes with such high heels however. *shudder*
Care and attention
Care and attention It was February. The sun was trying to shine but it was a little nippy out. You need to wrap up against the cold breeze! Man and daughter or maybe granddaughter pictured on Patrick’s Street in Cork.
Wow! A super hero!
Wow! A super hero! This is for all the fans of Marvel and DC Comics publications! Super heroes do exist. They live in Cork, and hand out leaflets on Patrick’s Street in front of Dunnes Stores!
The happy child
The happy child It is wonderful to see a child smile and laugh and this little fella certainly was cheerful! Three buggies in one shot, tell me there isn’t an explosion in births in Ireland! This was shot on Patrick’s Street, right in front of Boots. There’s someone eating in Abrakebabra in the background! I…
The hat and the smoke
The hat and the smoke I made this image of the guy in the hat on Patrick’s Street last February and I knew I had a great street shot. I have no idea what those people in the car are doing but they left shortly after. Link love: Donal has a great portrait of some…
Pedestrian Zone
Pedestrian Zone Many of the side streets off St. Patrick’s Street in Cork are now pedestrian zones. In fact, Oliver Plunkett Street is closed off to traffic on Saturdays too which is great for shoppers. Check out Donal’s latest photos from his trip to Lesotho. The second group portrait is particularly good!
Heatons Awaken Your Senses
Heatons Awaken Your Senses I jumped at the chance to make this photo when I saw the colour of the Heatons bag and the Super Valu advert on the bus shelter. Only later did I notice just how well the red or wine colours match! Is there a subtle marketing ploy at play here?
Barratts on Patrick’s Street
Barratts on Patrick’s Street A young man enjoying the sun on a warm September afternoon on Cork’s main thoroughfare, St. Patrick’s Street, or Panna as it’s sometimes known locally. That’s probably an iPod he’s listening to isn’t it? Barratts shoe shop is in the background. The side of that shop is visible in Walk This…
Mother and baby on the street
Mother and baby on the street A mother and her baby stroll along St. Patrick’s Street Cork. This was taken last September in beautiful Autumn weather. This morning started with a bang when Jacinta woke me at 5am because an ear infection was bothering her so much. We went to South Doc who were absolutely…
Father and son in the square
Father and son in the square A father and his offspring walk about after the parade on St. Patrick’s Day in Cork this year. Normally this is a busy junction but it was closed off for a few hours to make way for the festivities. Patrick’s Street can be seen in the background with the…
Girls on the street
Girls on the street St. Patrick’s Day brought out a huge crowd onto the streets and here’s a group of girls we bumped into on Patrick’s Street. We were on our way to a cafe for refreshment when I spotted a bicycle chained to a pole, but it had fallen down. As is my way…
