Revelers who were obviously having a great time at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Cork!
Big and crazy hats were the order of the day for many visitors and spectators
Crowd Safety officials had their hands full with the large crowd at the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Cork. I think they’re worried.
A carousel in Emmet’s Place attracted parents and kids and did a roaring business after the short St. Patrick’s Day parade in Cork. Each time themachine came to a halt parents and children alike both rushed up to grab their places!
As a rule I don’t photograph the homeless very often but I don’t think the sleeping gentleman in this photo was homeless. Rather a heavy night on the town I suspect.
This was snapped while walking past Marks & Spencers on Patrick’s Street last year. I spotted the security people and had the camera ready without breaking stride.
I wonder what happened next?
A dad waits for his better half to come out of a clothes shop on Patrick’s Street.
A mother and her daughters on St. Patrick Street, Cork last year. Look carefully in the window. Can you see what time of year it was?
Outside the FM Store, St. Patrick Street Cork. I was walking past when I spotted this scene unfold. I didn’t even see the pipe in the old man’s hand until later, but I was very happy with what came out. If only that girl had turned around.
The FM Store is that noisy place at the end of the street where Irish traditional or similar music blares out. The ESB Broadband Eircom picture I posted a while back is right behind where that old man is standing.
Thankfully I wasn’t affected by the Flickr outage. I was asleep while it all happened!
A charity collector stops to watch street entertainers on Patrick’s Street last October. The orange and red costume stands out just a little bit next to the dark clothing of those around him.
I almost jumped with glee when I saw this scene in front of me but the image itself paled when viewed later. The background buildings were too sharp so using layers and a layer mask I blurred the background and cropped the image a little.
Black and White Photography magazine has two articles on street photography this month.
A witch hands out balloons to young kids outside Brown Thomas on a late October Saturday.
Just out of frame of this shot is a woman who has asked for a balloon. The witch explains that the balloons are just for the kids.. I wonder why? More on this later.
A child is carried atop his parent’s shoulders on St. Patrick’s Street, Cork a few weeks ago.
I really like this shot, for what reason, I’m not sure. Maybe it’s the brightness and flowery design of the clothing worn by parent and child compared to the passers by. I’m sure both parent and child are in a happy place wandering around town.
“Here’s Health” and a sign advertising the Mutton Lane Inn can be seen in the background.
Friends talk and laugh on the street while busy shoppers pass on either side.
Pictured on St. Patrick Street, Cork last October in front of Penneys. I love my wide angle lens!
