London Eye

London Eye The London Eye (or Millenium Wheel as it is also called) is clearly visible in this shot of London City Center taken last weekend as my plane banked on approach to Heathrow Airport. We arrived around 7am when it was still dark. Thankfully I had my camera in a small bag at hand...

Horgans of Blarney

Horgans of Blarney The Irish flag flies outside Horgans of Blarney, a souvenir shop in the village. Despite the fact that it's between the butcher's and a pub, I've never been in there. I doubt most locals have been. Still, nice to see the flags waving!

Soft golden sunset

Soft golden sunset Sunset over Garrettstown Beach. PS. spammers are using the inphotos.org domain to send spam again which is why this site was down for most of the day. You should see the incoming traffic graph because of all the bounced messages. I have now shut down Postfix, and redirecting email to through my...

Carroll’s Quay Apartments

Carroll's Quay Apartments This is the apartment block that sprang up opposite the car park, from which I took this photo. The building itself is a dull grey monstrosity. Large windows look out on the street, hardly offering any privacy for residents. Tiny balconies sit outside some of the windows.

Shih Tzu on a sunset beach

Shih Tzu on a sunset beach Our Shih Tzu Oscar on Garrettstown Beach again. We forgot to bring a ball with us but Oscar went running after anything I threw. He never did catch the object. I guess there's nothing quite like a tennis ball eh? I love the evening sun on him in this...

Emerald House B&B

Emerald House B&B At the corner of the main green in Blarney sits Emerald House B&B. I've never stayed there but they have a great location, right next to Blarney Castle.

Mr Whirly the ice cream man

Mr Whirly the ice cream man An ice cream van in December? Yes, Mr Whirly was in Kinsale. Obviously someone isn't bothered by the cold!

Towering over Cork City

Towering over Cork City This tower is visible from a few places in Cork. I remember seeing it from near The South Infirmary and this is it seen from the multi storey carpark on the Grand Parade. Is it up by Barracks Street? I'm in Arizona for the week. Postings may be late in the...

Big brother is watching you

Big brother is watching you Big brother is watching you, wherever you go! CC TV cameras are sprouting up everywhere. This one is just outside the AIB in Blarney. I happened to go to the AIB in Blackpool and counted at least 3 cameras near the entrance. If you happen to use WordPress to power...

BMW in the evening

BMW in the evening A BMW parked in Blarney. I like the colour, I think it's the urban acid thing all over again!

St. Anne’s looking down on traffic

St. Anne's looking down on traffic The steeple of St. Anne's Church, or "Shandon Bells" as viewed from near the Opera House in Cork. Traffic is as usual stuck at the lights close by ..

Smiling pretty girls

Smiling pretty girls On the night when firemen closed off Dorothy Perkins in Cork, a few people saw my camera and presumed I was a photojournalist. Some even asked what was happening but I didn't know! Anyway, these two girls wanted their photo taken. They presumed I was with the Evening Echo but I told...
