Tour of Ireland Leading Group in Blarney

Yesterday the Tour of Ireland rode (quickly) through Blarney village, but the main group was proceeded by these three cyclists by almost 4 minutes. Good thing too, good practice for when the rest sped through in front of us at breakneck speed!

Very nice panning shot. So how many photos can a 40D take in 4 minutes? 🙂

Hi, I found your photoblog some months ago while surfing but could never remember how to get back to it! One of my daughters is very interested in photography and I kept telling her about this site. Now I have found it again I have bookmarked it for her.I am living in Cork and am amazed at the things I see regularly that you have given a completely different angle to! Our city is changing so fast some things will be lost unless people like you record them. The Western Star, that was a hub of student activity for so long, you snapped looking forlorn and deserted, there will probably be another apartment block there soon. I love the photos of west Cork.
    Best wishes

Fantastic action shot! It’s great how the middle guy is almost entirely not blurred.

Donal – lots and lots and lots. While the riders were shooting through the village I had the shutter pressed almost the whole time until a guy in a shiny tracksuit stepped in front of me. grrr.

Peggy – Thank you for commenting and glad you like the site! I hope you come back and visit on a regular basis! You have some great pics on your blog too, I’m subscribing. We’re practically neighbours!

Robin – Thanks, I’m really happy with a few shots that came out like that but it’s really hard to do, especially as you only get one chance to pan the camera!

Another great photo! I like the effect made by dragging the shutter!
