• Shopping for LEGO in Dublin

An older man and younger man standing in the middle of a crowded street with a LEGO bag

A LEGO shop opened on Grafton Street, Dublin, this year. I saw queues outside it as kids and harassed parents waited to get in.

  • Silhouette of the North Side

The silhouettes of Shandon Bells, the North Cathedral and a street light with a bird on it. Steam rises from the brewery as the sun sets

The steeple of St. Anne’s Church, or Shandon Bells, The North Cathedral, and street lighting on a pole with a bird on it are silhouetted by the setting sun. Steam rises from the Heineken Brewery in the foreground.

No sign of Flash Gordon yet, but Ming the Merciless is in Blackpool, Cork on Berwick Lane.

  • A Robin in November

A robin looking to the left, standing on a branch.

A little robin looks off to the left in the grounds of Blarney Castle last November. They’re a friendly bird.

If you want more, take a look at the fabulous robin photos that BathNature is posting and follow them!

I think my Blarney Castle membership expires today. I’m uncertain if I’ll renew it as it’s expensive, and I barely used it at all in the past 12 months.

Two leprechauns dance on St. Patrick’s Street, Cork. Tourists and children must love them, I guess.

  • Ferris Wheel and Reflection

A spinning ferris wheel is reflected in the bonnet of a nearby parked car

Henry spotted the reflection of the ferris wheel in this parked car on the Grand Parade in Cork.

  • Chugging away at Christmas Time

Charity collectors and a man digging through his pocket for change.

At the SHARE crib on St. Patrick’s Street, Cork earlier this month. Street fundraisers for SHARE were everywhere again this month, and even had tap-and-pay machines to pay by credit card or phone.

  • The Ferris Wheel through the Crystall Ball

A close up of a glass ball through which a ferris wheel is seen, upside down.

As seen in a previous photo of the Ferris Wheel on the Grand Parade in Cork, the crystall ball that Henry brought along was a very useful prop.

Here we are at the top of the car park looking down on the big wheel. It surrounds the crystal ball, but the wheel itself can be seen upside down in the ball.

Now I’m remembering how cold it was that evening and how I wished I’d brought my gloves. Must get fingerless gloves so I can use the camera.

  • Diego says Merry Christmas!

A chihuahua dressed in a Santa outfit on a stairs.

An old photo of Diego from a few years back when he was dressed up as Santa. He’s used to wearing coats and I think he looks adorable in this one!

  • Seeing Double

The lights of a Ferris Wheel appear doubled as the camera moved during exposure. Lots of other lights move too.

Two for the price of one! The Ferris Wheel on Grand Parade has grown a twin!

Thanks, Henry, for the inspiration. Here is his double photo.

  • Lights along the Lee

Light reflected in the water of a river at night in a city. Bright Christmas decorations line the bank further down, while the top half of a Ferris Wheel is lit up and seen above local buidlings. A car park stands next to the river.

Lights along the River Lee a couple of weeks ago when I joined Henry and Vivien for some photography. Henry got a fabulous shot of the wheel.

I’ll be posting some more shots of this over the next few days.
