To Albert Rd or Montenotte View?

Albert Road on the right, Montenotte View on the left. Take one road and go.

I used to take the bus into town for many years going to school. That went to the left. Traffic used to go both ways on Albert Road a long time ago. The day it changed to one way my mother drove up the wrong way after collecting us from school. She didn’t go too far before other motorists let her know the error of her ways!

    Blue Cork

Looking across the River Lee towards the Crawford College Of Art And Design next to Nano Nagle Bridge.

This was back in August 2019 when construction of the Event Center hadn’t eve.. oh wait, it still hasn’t started, but at least the red brick student accommodation on South Main Street was built.

Up until about an hour ago this has sat in my “to be published” collection as a black and white image but then I switched to colour, played around with it a little more and I prefer this.

A Storm in the Gap of Dunloe

Heavy rain and strong gusts of wind were the order of the day in the Gap of Dunloe when Blarney Photography Club visited last month. Made for atmospheric photos if you could keep your camera dry!

    The Bright Lights of Porto

Exactly 2 years ago in 2019 I was in Porto, Portugal with my team on a company meetup. It’s a beautiful city and I would love to get back there some day! That’s the Torre dos Clérigos in the background.

  • The sunrise flows

The sunrise flows over the hill

Because of the disc’s enormous magical field, at sunrise, the morning light flows over like thick golden syrup, accumulating in valleys and then slowly crawling over the top of an hillside. The same can be said about the night, which spreads like plum jam.

    The Ballydehob Bridge

Early in October we were lucky to have some wonderful weather for almost hours at a time. I spent some of that time in Ballydehob taking photos of the fabulous bridge there.

Ten minutes later it started raining and I was running to the car!

Autumn Colours in Blarney Castle Gardens

We’ve been lucky this year that the autumn and early winter has been so mild. It was 15C today! I think of this display as one last hurrah before the cold and rain and wind really sets in.
