Cobh Peoples Regatta – Flash Harry

Flash Harry, a Queen tribute band played to the crowd at the Cobh Peoples Regatta last weekend after the fireworks. They were great, driving the crowd wild!
*phew* This post took ages to do, had to get up early to work on this one. Hope you enjoy the photos!

  1. Cool shots Donn, so sharp! Mine came out a little too fuzzy for my liking. Probably one or two that I might post tomorrow.

  2. Excellent shots, you’ve got a great set of impressive photos.

I’m on dial up, and it didn’t take long for these to load up at all.

  3. I used a GIMP plugin called Dcam Noise 2 which does a reasonable job. The default “max radius” is 5 pixels which is way too much so I drop it down to 2 pixels. It doesn’t smooth out all noise but it doesn’t smudge details either. I don’t have the full Noise Ninja so that was not an option.

Funnily enough, I had to do a search to find the plugin. One of my posts is near the bottom of that page! 🙂

Another useful noise reduction tool is “selective gaussian blur”. Make sure the settings are really low and it will only blur closely coloured pixels.

  4. Thanks Donn, I don’t have the patience to read everything and mess around with these things. Will have to try those two tonight.
