I was there too
After shooting the Tenacious I looked behind me and smiled as I saw a great reflection of the beautiful sky on this car.
Wisps of cloud filtered the sun momentarily as I captured this image and a bit of post-processing helped to make the reflection stand out!

A woman walking in the English Market is the perfect subject for a bit of surreal experimentation with the GIMP!

A bit of an experiment this one. As I walked along Merchant’s Quay this woman and her husband barrelled past. The picture of her husband is simply a blur but I like what I got of her.
The streaky lines are caused by an excessive dodge/burn tool but I like the effect so I left it in. What d’you think?

A doorbell on a building on the seafront in Cobh. I can’t remember which building exactly but it was down in the direction of the train station.
It’s scorchio in Ireland now and it’s great! We adopted Oscar yesterday and the poor
dog was upset last night until we brought him for a walk. I think I’m finally going to get that exercise I’ve been promising myself for ages!

I like the dreamy diffused glow of this image. It was shot down in Inchadony Beach a few weeks back.
Howto: First of all, I had to straighten the horizon because it was at a precarious angle. I used two layers, I saturated the colours slightly in the bottom layer to bring out the green of the sea weed.
I blurred the top layer and converted it to black and white using the channel mixer. I applied a layer mask of a gradient to make the bottom half of the lower layer visible and changed layer mode to screen with an opacity of 100.
I then corrected lens distortion using ptlens running in Wine. The horizon was noticeably bent but this program did a great job correcting that!

Ireland today is defined by construction. A huge portion of the Irish economy is driven by the residential building trade. An acre of land can go for €50m and up in Dublin. Two rate hikes by the ECB hasn’t dampened Irish interest in owning their own property.
This crane was pictured at University College Cork where building work on new developments continues.
