Four Points Cadiz

Cadiz is a city and port in the Iberian Peninsula in Spain. The centre of the city is filled with old alleys and narrow streets. Here’s I shot straight upwards at the junction of 4 such alleys, I think it was here near the local cathedral.

Many years ago I took a similar photo of buildings in San Francisco.

And the rain keeps pouring

Rain has been pouring out of the heavens all day with little break. Here’s my neighbour’s car shot through the windscreen of my car this evening. Just back from acupuncture, need to shoot something not sharp to counter the needles I watched being put into my feet and hands, never mind the ones I didn’t see go into my neck, arms, hands, back and legs previously. at least 26 in all. Feel sluggish now.

Phil has amazing rain photos from a few days ago, too tired to link right now, sorry!

Short Circuit

Electricity everywhere and so evident at night in street lighting. I took this shot after meeting Mark for coffee 2 weeks ago. It’s this building site right in the middle of Cork City. More conventional shots will follow over the next few days.

Call me Spike

Frost covered weeds still manage to grow and thrive in the cold.

I saw this wonderful speckled white plant growing from a ditch yesterday morning and it looked very ominous. When I converted it to black and white I saw myself looking at something abstract, possibly evil, something that could be microscopic or huge.

I wouldn’t hang this photo on a wall, but I love it!

Big brother is watching you

Big brother is watching you, wherever you go! CC TV cameras are sprouting up everywhere.

This one is just outside the AIB in Blarney. I happened to go to the AIB in Blackpool and counted at least 3 cameras near the entrance.

I want real spam!

Oh, delicious spam! How I love you so! I want to spread you on sandwiches and lick the knife clean! Oh Yum!

Or not. I’ve never tasted the edible variety of spam, but like everyone else online I’ve had my fair share of spam emails, comments and blogs.

This is the real spam, made by Hormel. I spotted it in a store in San Francisco and snapped a quick shot of the aisle. Unfortunately the light was bad but, if you’ve never come across it before, it’s a novelty worth posting, right?

Current spam stats:
1. Inphotos: 8510
2. Holy Shmoly!: 21689
3. Gmail: 2176

Spam is here to stay.

So many light trails

Light trails from passing cars fill the frame with a golden glow on the corner of The Grand Parade and Washington Street, Cork.

Long exposure shot made possible by the traffic light switch on which I rested my camera!

Turquoise Acid

A water main on the street in San Francisco while Automattic waited to go into a restaurant.

I think that’s Matt in the background, but it might have been Alex too.

Urban Acid applied to this image 🙂

The green chair

Are you comfortable sir? Please sit down and the lift will descend in a moment.

A chair sits in a service lift on the sidewalk outside my hotel in San Francisco. The chair looked so out of place in the urban environment I had to shoot it!

School children

While walking back to the car after the Cobh Rambler’s game a few weeks ago I made this picture of a sign on the road.

I find it strange that out of the 600-odd images I took that day, this is the first image I’ve uploaded..
