Christmas Lights and Light Trails

Photos
This image captures a nighttime urban street scene decorated with festive Christmas lights. The main feature is a beautiful canopy of warm white string lights hanging overhead, creating a glittering ceiling effect along the street. In the foreground, there's a striking light trail effect created by passing vehicle lights - a curved red streak and a blue streak across the dark pavement. The street appears to be a commercial area, with the "Bar Barossa" establishment visible on the left side, advertising "Open Late 7 Nights" and "Good Food Served Daily." The overall atmosphere is enhanced by various illuminated decorations, including red neon shapes and additional holiday lighting displays along the building facades. The composition creates a compelling sense of depth, with the light canopy drawing the eye down the curved street into the distance. The contrast between the warm golden overhead lights, the cool blue ambient lighting from storefronts, and the dramatic red light trail creates a dynamic and festive urban nightscape.

A scooter swerved in front of my camera just as I took a photo of Oliver Plunkett Street tonight. I wonder if it was the rider’s intention to ruin the photo, but they made it much better. 🙂

Thanks Henry for organising the night out!

  1. @donncha I always find the “bPerfect” shop on Oliver Plunkett street amusing when I walk there from a jam session or a gig.It looks like a hypothetical eclipsis like in “ar an bPerfect” or “i bPerfect”. 😉
