Let’s celebrate with a few drinks! Hic!

Both Phil and Geraldine listed this blog in their “Arte y Pico” award list which gave me a warm glow because (other than the River Lee photos earlier in the week) comments have been far and few between here for quite a while.

Unfortunately I’m going to break the chain and not link to the Arte y Pico blog as it seems like nothing more than a link generating exercise by a clever blogger, or am I getting too cynical in my old age? I really do appreciate the sentiment however and listing your favourite bloggers is always a great way of showing your appreciation and starting a conversation. I have no hesitation in recommending you subscribe to both Phil and Geraldine’s blogs right this minute. They’re great photographers and you’ll enjoy their work!

This photo was taken in Bantry, Co. Cork a while back. I don’t actually recommend anyone get drunk to celebrate anything but the picture fit my buoyant mood. Can’t remember the last time I was drunk tbh. Probably before Adam was born methinks. Oh well, there goes the Irish stereotypes down the drain. I don’t even drink Guinness. I should be kicked out of the country!

i know i know.
when i first read the post by grannymar i didnt get at first that i had to post some of my favs, until after i had written my thank yous for my award. then i decided to go for it. it’s not something i like doing, and im not sure if i ever have done something like that before, and hope not to again. i know that it can appear like im looking for acceptance or showing too much admiration… (not to take away from your award!).

But yeah, they’re annoying and i dont expect many people i linked to to do the same. though i like to mix things up.

They’re not annoying at all! I just object to the “link back to the Arte y Pico blog” part of it.

I like posting links to stuff I’ve enjoyed. Unfortunately I rarely have time to do so which is why I Stumble it instead. Yesterday’s post was done just before I went to bed as that was the first free moment I had. I need a few more hours in the day!

Ulla – sure there are! Beamish and Murphy’s are stouts that are brewed here in Cork. Guinness of course is brewed in Dublin. I don’t drink any of them. Don’t like stout much.

Then there are numerous micro breweries dotted around the country.

And I’m sure I’m missing some obvious ones, our last prime minister is a huge fan of Bass.

As a Corkish lad, you should be drinking Murphy’s or Beamish (vitamin B is my personal favorite of the stouts) rather than Guinness anyhow, but you already pointed that out. If you’re not a stout drinker, sample some micros. There are also a fair number of good whiskys distilled in your area. Two in county Cork alone, if I remember correctly.

Sorry for the lack of comments. Some of the photos have definitely been worthy, but my brain’s been full of work.

Dave – good to see you again! Your comments are always welcome, no matter how far and few between they may be. Hehe, talking about drink in Cork brings you out of the woodwork! 🙂

Lack of commenting isn’t due to lack of wanting to comment. You know how busy things get when you have a young one? We’ve got two, I’m self-employed as is the missus – we don’t get a minute to spare! Ho hum, sounds like I’m whining but I shouldn’t really. I just wish I had a little more time to read and comment on blogs, and maybe take the odd picture or two, something I haven’t been able to find time for recently.

The good news is that being self-employed you can take holidays when you want, so we’re off camping this weekend to show the lads what life under canvas is like.
