Castle Street, Cork on Saturday. Workmen went off to lunch and left their ladder.
Thanks for the positive feedback yesterday. It was great to see so much interest in a photo!

Ladder to somewhere? It’s leading me up the street. Nice idea and take.
Cool composition! Like the way the ladder leads the eye.
rare angle you have, donncha…nice 😉
Great lines. Wow. Clever shot! I love the way it leads the eye right to the people in the background.
Hmm. I think I’d have been about a half-step to the right, and turned into the wall a bit to push the people into the right 1/3 of the frame, and capture a bit more wall and ladder. But then I’d never have thought of that tweak if you hadn’t seen the cool angle in the first place.
Let’s see, top side of ladder comes from top-left corner of frame. Bottom of ladder from bottom left. The convergence point up around 1/3, 1/3 from the top-right, and there’s the people. Make sense? But then I think the color on the wall is pretty cool, too.
like the POV here, cool shot!
Thanks Dave – I played around with the cropping several times but decided on a square crop in the end because the end of the ladder could frame one side of it, and yes, I like the red colour of the wall too!
I just had a thought, visitors to Cork will get a strange notion of what the city is like from my photos.. they’ll have to look up and down and crawl around to see what I see!
It’s definitely not the same view I had of it, but the only time I was crawling around was coming out of the boozer. 🙂
