Next time you’re in Cork and you have a spare hour to burn head up to Shandon and into St. Anne’s Church where you can ring the Shandon Bells. Nice shot Donncha. I like how the ropes disapear into blackness at the top of the photo.
I was wondering how people knew the notes of the songs being played – I never even thought that the songs would be printed out!

Thanks! Ryan and Aidan (I think) tried playing the bells between them. Did a fair job too at some nursery rhyme!

When you’re tugging away (oooh matron) on the ropes however, do spare a thought for the poor feckers above you, climbing up between the bells! Deafened I was. Donncha too. Possibly permanently if not for the hugely high powered, expensive hearing protection apparatus we were wearing at the time.
