Sand Crab
A sand crab, moments before it was destroyed by the gleeful swipe of a 2 year old’s foot.
Lucht Snamha
A warning sign on the beach in Youghal, County Cork.
Open Happiness
Youghal, last April. Coca Cola sells happiness while Tesco tries to sell bargains. PS. I just posted a gallery of photos from the IBA 09 photowalk last February.
Reliant Robin
A Reliant Robin, as seen in Charlesfort near Kinsale last March. Remember the one on Mr Bean? Wikipedia has more on this diminutive car.
O’Briens Sandwich Bar
“O’Briens’ HQ placed in examinership” according to this news report yesterday. This is their fairly recently opened (and more recently closed) “sandwich bar” on Oliver Plunkett Street here in Cork. Loved their Triple Decker, even if it was a little pricey. Hope the company survives.
Stopped by a fag
A man stops to light his cigarette while holding a mobile phone to his ear. Who said men can’t multi-task eh?
Little Daisies Everywhere
They’re not daisies are they? They look like them, but they were for sale in a garden centre and I’m sure they wouldn’t be so bold as to offer the common daisy for sale?
Big Wheel in the Showgrounds
The big wheel, as seen from The Atlantic Pond outside Pairc Ui Chaoimh in Cork. Sort of fitting that I post a photo of a fairground ride on the day that Michael Jackson is laid to rest. BTW – there are still places on the Cork photowalk on the 18th. It’s less than 2 weeks…
Autumn Trees
Beautiful golden leaves adorn the trees in Burnham Beeches near London. Last year I posted a photo of the same trees in Burnham Beeches and this version has been sitting in my TODO folder ever since, waiting for me to work on it.
Little Fluffy Clouds
Clouds drift over the River Lee across from Blackrock Village about a week ago. I’m trying out the preview of Bibble 5 Pro at the moment. Great DAM features, although it is starting to slow down after importing about 90,000 images and it’s reading from an external USB 2.0 drive.
The gull fight
Gulls fight over a few crumbs of bread at the Lough in Cork. Taken during a photowalk there last year.
R&H Hall
The huge bulk of R&H Hall can be seen for miles around, as telecoms companies noticed too when they planted their dishes and aerials on top of the building. It’s a prominent building in Cork Docklands, and surprisingly, I’ve only posted photos of it once before, when it was on fire 3 years ago. I…
