Herre’s the plane

a Liebherr branded construction crane with an airplane flying far above it

From the Lee Fields, in August this year. A construction crane working on the student accommodation with an aeroplane that took off from Cork Airport high above it and rising fast, off somewhere, hopefully warm.

TIL I’ve been spelling aeroplane wrong for years.

Heron in the River Lee

Heron in the River Lee
A heron waiting for fish to swim past on the weir in the River Lee.

While on an outing with Blarney Photography Club to the Lee Fields, we were lucky enough to see a very patient heron attempt to catch his dinner.

The light was falling, and it cast a lovely warm glow on everything.

The heron did catch a fish eventually. I was 100m away down river and on hearing a shout looked up and caught a very blurry photo of the bird with the fish in it’s mouth.

The Cork County Hall and the web

Early one morning I visited the County Hall in Cork and took a few photos. In fact, this one is from the same shoot.

Webs covered a tree behind the building, and the early morning dew sparkled in the sun. I was hoping for an ominous feel to the photo but I failed, and instead I have something that mixes nature with our man made presence on this world.

I quite like the way the strands of the web stand out too!

Alone in the park

A dog, a tree and a park bench in the Lee Fields, Cork.

I took Oscar, our shitzu, for a short walk at the Lee Fields a while back and made this image during what was a fairly uneventful walk. Neither of us was in the mood for a walk but we had time to kill.
