Yellow and Blue

We’ve seen a lot of the Ukraine flag in the last few months following the invasion of that country by Russia. Before that I didn’t realise the wall facing the Centra in Dingle had the same colours. Looking the worse for wear and not the right shades of course.

An Fear Marbh at Sunset

An Fear Marbh, or Inis Tuaiscerat (Inishtooskert in English) is an Island off the Dingle Peninsula, Co Kerry. I’ve photographed it many times but it’s a picturesque area so I’ll photograph it many more times I’m sure!

A Visit to Valentia Lighthouse

A trip to Valentia Island is not complete without a visit to the lighthouse on Cromwell Point. The lighthouse is still used to guide vessels through the northern entrance of Valentia Harbour past Harbour Rock.

There’s a guided tour of the lighthouse including of course a run down of the history of the area, and afterwards a nice cafe where you can have a refreshing cup of tea and a cake.

The Barren Gap of Dunloe

The Gap of Dunloe in Co Kerry in February 2007. I was up there recently and it couldn’t have been more different. A storm blew down the valley making life miserable for anyone walking the roads or trying to take photos of this scenic area.
