Holiday Caravan
Holiday Caravan A holiday caravan near a beach on the Dingle Peninsula. This caravan has been in the same spot for at least the last 2 years, and probably longer. I wanted to shoot it for quite a while but it wasn’t until I converted this shot to b/w that I was happy with it.
Through the long grass
Through the long grass Hard wind worn grass grows by the beach at Wine Strand in Co. Kerry. I think this is perfect in black and white. The blue sky was amazing but the light and shadow of the grass stands out against the uniform background. I shot my first sports stuff in ages yesterday….
Sunlit Grassy Slopes
Sunlit Grassy Slopes Tough grass that’s lovely and springy to walk on edge to the horizon where a cloud floats serenely in the blue sky. Life is good! This is taken close to this photo of the same slope but the mood is completely different.
Windswept grass and fence
Windswept grass and fence The tough grass by a beach in Kerry grows thick on this hill, bounded by a wire fence to keep curious people like myself at bay! This is an experiment for me. I thought the b/w treatment would work well as the image is full of texture, lines and shadow. What…
Shih Tzu in flight
Shih Tzu in flight My Shih Tzu Oscar just after he picked up the ball I threw for him! Most dogs have a strong fetch instinct but Oscar’s was hidden away until we discovered it earlier this year. Now he loves the phrase "where’s the ball Oscar?"
Shih Tzu and the Ball
Shih Tzu and the Ball Shih Tzu dogs love to play ball! We only found this out after a dog trainer came to the house and “ruffled his fur” a bit and in the process Oscar became a lot more relaxed. Now he adores playing ball and even one mention of, “where’s the ball?” and…
The groomed Shih Tzu
The groomed Shih Tzu Our pet Shih Tzu, Oscar, has been suffering under the unusual August weather. It’s actually quite warm, and his long coat is more useful for colder weather. So this morning we had him groomed and doesn’t he look cute?
Gateway to old homes
Gateway to old homes If you walk along the Mardyke in Cork you’re sure to have spotted this green area nestled in off the main road. Does anyone know anything about it? PS. Here is where this is. Google Maps don’t have it on their map, but you can make out the green area in…
Splendor in the grass
Splendor in the grass It’s so wonderful to see small little daisies growing up all on their own surrounded by grass everywhere. When the sun is shining and there is nothing to do except eat a nice picnic and stroll by the beach I’m in heaven. I shot these bright little daisies down in Garrettstown,…
Donkey in the field
Donkey in the field I almost made an ass of myself and forget to post a picture today! You’d be saying to yourselves, “He haw-lways posts a picture every day, where is today’s one?” Never fear, here it is and I’ve run out of donkey jokes so it’s back to normal. Feel free to contribute…
Lifebelt in the grass
Lifebelt in the grass A lifebelt lay in the grass at a beach on the Dingle Peninsula, Co. Kerry last September. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, beautiful clouds contrasted with the deep blue of the sky and a light breeze blew off the sea. We were just going back to the…
The black and white boat
The black and white boat A small boat lies upside down on the grass. Isn’t black and white great?
