In the future we won’t talk at all

People ordering food in McDonalds using their kiosks. Four people are at the machines, mostly dressed for the night in dark clothes and coats while one young woman is dressed as if it wasn't cold and wet outside.

We just tap tap tap on the screens to order. The man watching me take the photo never said a word either.

It was Halloween, did you notice the horns on her head?

A Moment on a gloomy Halloween Night

2 young men share a moment, looking at a phone in a doorway, sheltering from the rain. 3 mannequins in a shop window stare out into space.

It was a typical wet and gloomy Halloween night, and I was walking past a shop doorway when I noticed two young men huddled together, seeking shelter from the rain. One of them was dressed in a frog costume, and they were engrossed in something on the other’s phone. As I watched them, I couldn’t help but think about the magic of Halloween, how it brings out the child in all of us, and how it can turn a rainy night into a playful adventure.

In a nearby shop window, three male mannequins stood in a row. Despite being inanimate objects, they seemed to be staring into space, almost as if they were lost in thought. The light from the window chased away the shadows, creating a surreal scene that contrasted sharply with the dark and rainy night outside. It was a reminder that even in the midst of the ordinary and mundane, there is always a touch of magic waiting to be discovered.

The Flower Seller

A man selling flowers on Graft Street watches as a woman looks for what she wants to buy

On Grafton Street, Dublin, you’ll find people selling flowers to passing pedestrians. There are a few of them, so business must be pretty good. Lots of foot traffic in the area, though. Lovely displays of colour too.

Irish Adult Store

There are I think 3 adult stores in Cork. Two are down by Parnell Place, or at least they were, and the other is pictured above!

One of the adult stores in Cork is down a small, narrow little road called Grafton Street. The alley is so small that it doesn’t even appear on Google Maps. It does show on Yahoo Maps but you’d be forgiven if you never noticed it before.

This was shot from the Grand Parade multi-storey car park which backs onto the road. I was really happy to get the flashing neon sign while it was illuminated!

The Sony repair centre is just across the alley from the store, the only reason I’ve ever gone down there, when I tried to get my Sony 717 repaired.

No, before you ask, I’ve never darkened the doorway of any of those shops!
