Painting a Malaga Mural
I spotted this mural being painted in Malaga a few weeks ago. A few people gathered around to watch. The mural is a striking painting of a woman in a blue dress, sitting in front of a landscape and a sunset. The painting is called, “Brisa Estival” or “Summer Breeze” by the artist, Lalone, according…
Construction at Sunset
From the top of the hotel I was staying at, I saw this lovely sunset happen and had to capture some images of it before the colour disappeared. Cranes dot the landscape, a sign of continued expansion in the Spanish tourist industry!
The sunset glow
The setting sun makes the sky glow a lovely yellow before the day ends in darkness.
Mushrooms on an old tree
Mushrooms cling to an old tree trunk in Killarney National Park.
Light speeds on the road
A bus and other traffic speed along the road at night.
Flooding in Fitzgerald Park
Fitzgerald Park in Cork City is a bit flooded after the recent rain. The children’s play area is totally flooded, as it’s lower than the surrounding ground, and the pond is overflowing onto the surrounding path. They were waiting for the River Lee to overflow about an hour later!
The Red House
A red house in Kinsale. Observant readers will recall I posted another photo of this house a few months ago.
Pink Roses
Pink roses stood out against the dark bushes and overgrowth over a wall in Kinsale last summer.
Fab in the Sun
Not so much real sun, but Sun, the newspaper. A man reads it on St. Patrick’s Street, Cork. He’s probably doing the crossword.
A grey wagtail looking for food
A grey wagtail pictured in Ballincollig Regional Park during the summer. He was hopping around in the bushes next to the River Lee, when Rory spotted him, got a few photos and called me over to see. I’d never have seen him otherwise, as he’s tiny.
To be a stag in October
We went to Killarney National Park this morning to photograph the annual rutting. This is when stags come down from the mountain and look for romance and court any nearby female deer. And they’re quite vocal about it. This particular guy was on one side of the tarmac path occupied by us human photographers, and…
The Pink Boss
How often do we stand still on the street, surrounded by the urban environment, looking at a phone?
