Chili peppers on sale in the market in Maidenhead in the UK about 3 weeks ago. It wasn’t quite cold enough that I was tempted to buy some and chew them raw, but if it was now I’d think about it. It’s freezing out!

When you come to Ireland you go looking for a Guinness don’t you? Well, if you’re in Cork, you must try local stouts, Beamish or Murphy’s. I’m not a big fan of any of them but the Cork stouts are sweeter than Guinness, and nicer IMO.

The Evening Echo seller on Patrick’s Street, Cork, has been selling the evening paper for longer than I care to remember. I took a shot of him back in 2005 and he’s still there, braving wet and cold and every other sort of weather.
