Beautiful, pretty pink flowers in Fitzgerald’s Park, Cork in July 2007. I already posted a photo of these flowers but this one was sitting in my TODO box for so long it had to see the light of day!

  • The Big Slide

In Fitzgerald’s Park a week ago the Street Performance World Championship 2009 brought the crowds to the park. This multi story slide was one of the main attractions. Huge long queue for it though.

  • O’Brien’s Tower

O’Brien’s Tower overlooks the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare. The tower was built in 1835 according to the Wikipedia page on the building.

The tower was built on the Cliffs of Moher in 1835 by local landlord Sir Cornellius O’Brien as an observation tower for the hundreds of Victorian tourists that frequented the cliffs during the time. On a clear day the view can extend as far as Loop Head at the southern tip of Clare and beyond to the mountains of Kerry. Looking north from O’Briens Tower, on clear days, you can see the Twelve Bens in Connemara (also known as the Twelve Pins) beyond Galway Bay, and typically the Aran Islands to the west.

  • Emergency at Kilkee Beach

The lifeboat at Kilkee is stored at the top of this ramp going down to the water at the beach. At low tide it’s quite a distance and the wide angle makes a great job of getting it all in!

Those two dots on the beach are my family! 🙂

  • Street Performance World Championship 2009

Some photos from last Sunday when the Street Performance World Championship was held in Fitzgerald’s Park, Cork. I actually didn’t really see any performers because of the huge crowds. The place was packed with people. No wonder, when we went down around 6pm it was a glorious evening!

These photos have also been uploaded to pix.ie.

There’ll be a repeat in Dublin next weekend. Hope you get the same great weather!

  • The Cliffs of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher, majestic cliffs in County Clare looking out on the Atlantic Ocean. 7UP are part of the campaign to name the cliffs as one of the new 7 natural wonders of the world. You’ve probably seen the crazy adverts!

It was a really miserable day when we got there. Shooting was really difficult but it was great to finally see the cliffs.
