Blue boat out of water
Blue boat out of water Two small boats tied up and out of the water on the Dingle Peninsula, Co. Kerry.
Blue sky on a dull day
Blue sky on a dull day Today is dull, there’s a glimpse of blue out, it’s cold, there’s a chilly wind blowing. Blue sky and fluffy clouds in Kerry while on holiday. Great memories.
You’re a star
You’re a star So that’s what happens to reality tv show judges when they retire. They go off to Dingle and work on a trawler! In the background is an old burned out trawler that has been tied up to the quay in Dingle for at least the last 18 months. I have photos of…
Randles Court Starlights
Randall’s Court Starlights We stayed in The Randles Court Hotel in Killarney, Co. Kerry last February and one night I wandered out to take a few shots. This was a long exposure shot, with the aperture closed down as much as possible to f/22. Lovely hotel too!
Waves at Couminole
Waves at Couminole The waves crash on to the beach at Couminole on Slea Head, Co. Kerry. Standing where I was when I took this image was scary. Huge waves lifting up water to head height before crashing down mere feet in front of me. Is that Skellig Michael in the background?
The Kerry Flag
The Kerry Flag Kerry were still celebrating their win in the All Ireland when we stayed in Dingle a few weeks back and flags were flying everywhere!
Shadows on Slea Head
Shadows on Slea Head Shadows from the broken clouds above play over the landscape on Slea Head in Co. Kerry. Every moment was a different photo until the rain eventually caught up with us!
Through the long grass
Through the long grass Hard wind worn grass grows by the beach at Wine Strand in Co. Kerry. I think this is perfect in black and white. The blue sky was amazing but the light and shadow of the grass stands out against the uniform background. I shot my first sports stuff in ages yesterday….
Rain blows over Slea Head
Rain blows over Slea Head Rain descended on us moments after I took this shot as it sped across the bay and over Slea Head from the south! This was taken above Couminole Beach.
Yellow Walking Man
Yellow Walking Man An arrow points the way for walkers near Wine Strand on the Dingle Peninsula. Across the water is Ballydavid or Baile na nGall. Beautiful clear skies, lovely calm water. Ideal weather.
Dingle
Dingle The town of Dingle, or “An Daingean” as it’s officially known as now. The name change has upset many local people who mourn the loss of their identity and fear that the brand recognition of the name Dingle will be lost on (mostly American) tourists who flock here through out the summer. The 2005…
The waves at Couminole
The waves at Couminole Waves about to crash down on the nearby rocks at Couminole Beach on Slea Head, Co. Kerry. Originally this was in colour but it lacked punch. Converting it to black and white and slightly overexposing the blue channel created this dramatic scene.
