Last Light at the End of the Peninsula

—

It was turning out to be a disappointing sunset as there was so much cloud, and it was getting dark quickly, not great when you’re balancing on the hill going down to Dunquin Pier. Luckily, there was a break in the clouds and I spotted some of the golden light of the sunset peek through.

It was gone again in a moment, and soon I was walking up the steep path back to the car in the dark.

  2. @donncha With regards to sunsets, I always wait until after the sun sets before writing them off, especially along the ocean. The most amazing sunsets can happen when a crack happens along the horizon and the undersides of the clouds get illuminated. That is lovely. I envy you the scenery. 🙂

  3. @CStamp whenever I forget that I look back at the scene I've just left and invariably have to set up my tripod again really quickly to capture the amazing light! 🌅

    1. @donncha I once had people over for dinner at my cottage by the ocean. It had been a rainy, gloomy day, so I wasn’t paying attention to my window view. Someone mentioned, “look!” The sky had parted a bit right at the horizon and the sky was magnificent. The sun was below the horizon but wasn’t done with lighting up the world. Lesson imprinted on me going forward. 🙂
