The Stunning Live at Cyprus Avenue

·

The Stunning performing under intense orange and red starburst stage lighting, with the lead singer playing guitar centre stage, fellow band members on either side, The Stunning drum kit logo visible behind, and audience members' raised hands silhouetted in the foreground.

The Stunning have been part of Irish musical life since the late 80s with such hits as “Brewing up a Storm”, “Everything That Rises”, and “Half Past Two”. It was incredible to see them live in Cyprus Avenue!

Lovely shots! Out of interest, what lens were you using?

That would be the Samyang 24mm f/2.8 prime for Sony FE. An inexpensive lens that I love! It’s great!

Ah super interesting! Really sharp and low noise. Lovely.

I have a Sony FE 40mm f/2. 5 G, which I’m really happy with. Have considered picking up the older FE 85mm f/1.8 for concert photos (the GM f/1.4 is another level money wise and size and weight when paired with the A7C II).

But I’ll definitely be trying out some gigs with the 40mm too 😊

The low noise is thanks to Lightroom Classic and its Denoise function. That thing does wonders! I also have the Samyang 75mm prime and it’s great too. Another cheap lens. 🙂

The 85mm will be great for concerts if you’re that bit further back. I was able to get some good shots out of the 75mm at f/1.8.

It’s easy to see which lens I prefer to use!
