Teampol na mBocht, Altar

A Church of Ireland church near Schull, in Co. Cork, is set in scenic landscape beside Toormore Bay.

We drove past, and I saw it was surrounded by a sea of wildflowers, mostly oxeye daisies, and also dandelions. On our return from Crookhaven I vowed to stop and spend half an hour there taking photos.

@donncha first thing I thought … needs the meaning behind the name included 😀 realising I don't know what the word teampol (I know what it means) … actually means is it a temple or is it a church and what's the distinction 😀 why is it eaglais .. and now I've just gone down a little rabbit hole so teampall is used for protestant churches

    @donncha take what I say with a grain of salt .. it was a quick check https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/eaglais "When referring to a building, eaglais is usually used only of Roman Catholic churches in Ireland; Protestant churches are called teampall. But an Eaglais is ‘the Church’ as an institution regardless of denomination: the Anglican Church of Ireland is called Eaglais na hÉireann in Irish."
