Debenhams, a large retailer in the UK and Ireland closed last year with the loss of thousands of jobs. Workers in Ireland were promised 4 weeks pay per year of service rather than the statutory 2 weeks as that had been agreed between the company and their union, Mandate.
The workers are seeking redundancy terms of two weeks’ pay per year of service, plus statutory redundancy entitlements of two weeks per year of service. The workers say this matches an agreement between the retailer and trade union Mandate made in 2016.

So, I had to Google both “Debenhams” and “Taoiseach” … what a shame! I even went to the Debenhams web site … nice stuff, too bad it closed
