This wording would be unusual in America. It would just say, “Watch your step”. “Mind the gap” seems filled with more wisdom and true concern. Great photo, as always!
In the UK the man who voiced the “Mind the gap” warning on the London Underground was the late Phil Sayer. On my other blog I posted a lovely interview with his widow, and a nice Youtube video about them both.
