Rushing through countryside

I shot this through the window of our car while driving back to the ranch after Automattic’s trip to Biosphere 2 in Arizona a few months ago. I love how the foreground blurs but the background and the sky remain motionless and static. Love the movement.

That’s a great shot. That forground blurs gives a sense of motion against a wonderfully dynamic backdrop. The darker to lighter shading of the clouds lend to the depth of the shot, leading ones eyes to the distant peaks. Excellent!

There is a HDRish feel to this. Normally HDR leaves me cold but this is very natural. Tthe juxtaposition of the blurry foreground and the sharp background gives a great feeling of movement and space. Beautiful shot!

Thanks! This is one exposure, but I used layers so I could bring out the most dynamic range from the image as I could. Very happy with how it came out 🙂
