Doneraile Park Gallery 1

Yesterday we went to Doneraile Park in Co. Cork for a photowalk. Weather was nice, if overcast and it was very warm so walking around the park was, errr, a walk in the park. Katie has already uploaded a few shots this morning! Looking forward to seeing more from the others.

This is my part 1 of my shots. There’s almost another 100 shots to upload, I think a gallery of 220 or so images might be a bit much ..

  1. It’s just the bog standard WordPress 2.5 gallery function plus Cleaner Gallery plugin from http://justintadlock.com/archives/2008/04/13/cleaner-wordpress-gallery-plugin and jQuery lightbox from http://www.pedrolamas.com/projectos/jquery-lightbox 🙂

I hate that in Linux the flash uploader freezes the browser but it’s handy selecting dozens of photos at a time to upload. I had to reduce the upload to 40 photos at a time because my server backed up or something. The first time I tried all 220 odd images and it stalled at 49. Thinking the upload had failed I stopped it but later I discovered the 49 attachment records in the db. Guess the server needed to catch up!

  2. Great stuff! That dragonfly is a cracker – just goes to show that sometimes it’s worthwhile going to the trouble of changing lenses! :o) There’s something a bit creepy about those bags hanging up in the shed. Although Will could maybe use them as pillows to go with his new bed headboard?!

  3. I wondered who went speeding past me up the cork road with one hand on the steering wheel and one hand holding down a wrought iron bed headboard on the car roof! Will, this was supposed to be a photowalk, not a re-stocking opportunity!!

  4. Unfortunately the dragonfly shot isn’t as sharp as it might be. Manual focusing is harder than I expected! Unsharp mask might help to bring out the detail though, and a web version might be ok.
