Running in the Blarney Half Marathon

Running in the scorching heat on Waterloo Road near the end of the Blarney half marathon.

Directing traffic on Waterloo Road.

Finishing the race in that searing heat is quite an accomplishment. Everyone received a medal at the finish.

Well done to everyone who took part!

Very nice action shots Donncha. I love the lines in the top one – they really bring your eye to the runner – and the movement in the second one.

Three sweet pictures, I wish I could capture ones like this.

Thanks Pete! I knew a portrait shot with the tree in the background could look good, especially with the wide angle. I had to be careful of traffic though. Crouched in the middle of the road isn’t exactly the safest place to be! My favourite of this lot is the second one but it could do with a little more work, and perhaps converted to b/w. The motion around the stationary figure with the red flag is very strong, but it just needs a little tweaking!
