A one second exposure captures the movement through time of the escalator in Nikeworld San Francisco last August. This is one of a series of shots, including a few of Mark and Andy although I think this is the most dramatic of them.

I wasn’t going to post this at all except that a few days ago another escalator photo made the front page of Digg somehow. Digg away please :)

  1. I prefer this one to the one that was posted to digg. Well done!

  2. It reminds me of the "going through the stargate" scene in Kubrick’s "2001". And it’s better than the one on Digg too.

  3. Thanks! It pays to dig through the archives sometimes. In fact that’s all I’ve been doing for the past few months, there’s so much there. I haven’t posted anything I shot in 2007 yet!

  4. i really like this, the movement, the colour, it’s fantastic. Well done.

  5. Beautiful picture. Congratulations.

  6. Cool shot Donn! Thought of that other pic as soon as I saw it. I don’t think that person in front of you would have been too impressed if you set a tripod looking straight up at her though!

  7. Another lovely one. This has a very celebratory atmosphere to it :)

  8. quel angle !!!

  9. I really like this image, the colour is great. It looks like some sort of time warp futuristic sci fi movie still!

  10. I think that the red pants help to balance the image.

  11. Hi, I’m an admin for a group called DIYPhotography, and we’d love to have your photo added to the group.

Just love this picture, the pose of the girl on the right aligns well with the movement theme of the picture.
