Cork City Hall

Cork City Hall, on the banks of the River Lee. Shot on the same night as yesterday’s shot of Gardner House. Also not the first time I’ve posted a photo of City Hall!

Only 9 places left for the photowalk. Unfortunately the weather forecast for Saturday is bad so umbrellas and raincoats are a must. I’ll be emailing everyone tomorrow too. Watch your inbox!

    Ah, the banks of the lovely Lee!
    I’ve discovered by sheer chance your photosite, it’s great (and scary, too!) to see how much my Erasmus ‘hometown’ has changed in the last fifteen years.

    That’s a great shot Donncha.

    I’ve been failing miserably at taking night shots almost to the point of giving up trying. Would love to know how you do it.

    Long exposure photos are easy. You either choose Aperture priority mode or Shutter speed. I use Aperture as I can depend on a really deep depth of field.

    I set the aperture to something like f/10 or f/22, sometimes set shooting mode to 2 second delay, place the camera on a nearby wall (or tripod but I never use a tripod) and compose. Then press the shutter button 🙂

    For the shot above I under exposed by 1 stop because the camera was trying to expose for the dark river and sky.
