Bee goes buzz

An Asian hornet was spotted in Cork recently. If they gain a hold in this country it could be very bad news for bumblebees like the one in this photo.

This particular bee had 3 of us surrounding her with cameras trying to photograph her as she fed on the nectar of this little flower.

A Home Surrendered to Time

An old abandoned house on the Sheep’s Head Peninsula in Co. Cork. This isn’t the first time I’ve photographed it. In 2017 it looked much the same, but not quite as overgrown.

The Watchtower and Seaside Blooms

The lifeguard tower at the end of the main section of the beach at Youghal. The beach does continue on, but the sand was green with algae and it was obvious it’s not used by humans much.

I love the matching colours in this photo. I spent a good few minutes kneeling in damp sand and dirt trying to get this photo.

In Loving Memory Of

The final resting place of James Attridge and his wife Margaret, surrounded by wild daisies. It’s in a small graveyard on the way to Crookhaven.
