Morning Sunrise over Whistler

There aren’t many sunrise photos around Whistler, probably because the town is built between two mountains, east and west, blocking the light of the new sun on the horizon.

This is sort of near Whistler, on the far side of Alta Lake, with a 300mm lens pointing roughly north where the glow of the rising sun appeared for about 2 minutes on an overcast dreary morning last week.

Music at the 2016 GM

One of the highlights of the Automattic Grand Meetup every year is the party on the final evening, and in recent years a band made up entirely from my colleagues and friends in the company rock the stage. Last year they were followed up by a cracking DJ set that kept people dancing ’til the early hours!

Here’s a few photos that have been lying in my “out folder” for the last few months, taken at rehearsal and during the performance. I have many more but I think by the time I develop all of them the next GM will have been and gone!

Who knows, I may even use this opportunity to develop a few more of the photos and add them to this post. 🙂
