Guysal Ltd

Guysal Ltd must had an office on Cornmarket Street some time ago as the phone numbers above aren’t valid Cork numbers any more. Both should have a “4” prefix now. This wall was exposed during the extensive construction work on the old Guy and Company building on that street.

Guysal Ltd are now in Ovens, Co. Cork.

Which way to Radio Kerry?

A wall in Killarney, Co. Kerry in February this year. I love the red brick and the assortment of colours – blue, red, gold, black and the creeping green at the end of the wall.

Blue skies contrail and clouds

A wall of the Beamish and Crawford Brewery blocks the sun in this shot taken on South Main Street, Cork.

Blue skies are great for sun worshippers but photographers don’t like them. It’s always better to have some cloud or interest in the sky. The fluffier and more solid the better, as long as some blue sky can be seen.

Yellow Flower

Originally posted on todayismygifttoyou.ie this was an entry for Today FM’s Us Day.

In this image, a bright yellow flower takes center stage against a backdrop of pale red blocks with painted black mortar between them. The contrast between the vibrant yellow and the muted red creates a striking visual effect, drawing the eye to the delicate petals of the flower. The black mortar lines provide a sense of structure and order to the composition, framing the flower and highlighting its beauty. Despite the simplicity of the scene, the careful arrangement of colors and shapes creates a sense of depth and texture, evoking the warmth and vibrancy of a summer day.
