The Ferris Wheel after Sunset

The Ferris Wheel on Grand Parade in Cork pictured just after sunset, in December 2016. This year the wheel is further up the street so you can’t get this photo now.

I haven’t been in town at sunset this month either but hopefully someone got a nice sunset photo of the wheel this year.

An evening above Dunquin Pier

Dunquin Pier at the end of the Dingle Peninsula sits below a steep grassy cliff. Last year I saw three teenage girls sitting on the edge of the cliff you can see in this photo. I got dizzy just looking at them but they weren’t in (much) danger. There’s a step below where many feet have worn away the grass.

Heron in the River Lee

A heron waiting for fish to swim past on the weir in the River Lee.

While on an outing with Blarney Photography Club to the Lee Fields, we were lucky enough to see a very patient heron attempt to catch his dinner.

The light was falling, and it cast a lovely warm glow on everything.

The heron did catch a fish eventually. I was 100m away down river and on hearing a shout looked up and caught a very blurry photo of the bird with the fish in it’s mouth.
