Sunset over Crosshaven boats 2
As promised yesterday in my last Crosshaven post here’s another shot of the same scene but wider. I still like both a lot. What d’you think?

The Baltimore Beacon
The Baltimore Beacon was the scene of a terrible tragedy on Tuesday when three people lost their lives in the sea there.
It emerged yesterday that the four-strong party — the other being Mr Ryan’s teenage daughter, Charlotte Davis Ryan — may have been fishing rather than walking when tragedy struck.
It is understood that Ms O’Connor may have been knocked into the water first by a wave, and Mr Davis Ryan went to save her.
It is understood that Mr Ryan asked then his daughter to raise the alarm, and that conscious of the lack of mobile phone signal in the area, she ran up the hill towards the Beacon, quickly borrowed a phone from some tourists and made the call. Valentia Coast Guard confirmed yesterday that the emergency call was made from a foreign mobile number.
By then, Mr Ryan had entered the water in an attempt to rescue his son and his girlfriend. The time between the emergency call being received at 6.36pm and the lifeboats arriving at the scene at 6.50pm and taking Mr Ryan and Ms O’Connor from the water was described as “seriously fast” by Valentia Coast Guard.

Rock Castles at Sunset
Carefully balanced piles of rocks line the rocky stretch of coastline by Av. Maritima around here in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote.
Thanks Iga for nominating me to post an artistic photo a day for 5 days. I already had posts scheduled but I’ll post an extra one each day anyway! 🙂

I may have dust on my camera sensor
One of the downsides of being able to change lens is the ever present danger of dust getting into the camera and coating the sensitive sensor. Every time the lens is taken off there’s a chance that dust will swirl into the cavity of the camera, attracted by the charged sensor on the back wall behind the mirror.
I took this photo sometime last year but never noticed the dust until later. I had a blower and soft brush with me so it was easy to clean the sensor.
Luckily removing the dust spots is fairly easy in Lightroom or any photo development application but this was easily the most dust I ever saw and was a rain pain to go over the whole image. (made easier by page up/down and the “visualise spots” setting, but still..)
