Amsterdam City Tour
If you need a tour of Amsterdam these guys will help!
The Crow and the Wheel
The Ferris Wheel on the Grand Parade is gone now but just recently a crow was checking it out to see if it was fun or not.
Under the National Monument
The National Monument in Dam Square, Amsterdam, is a white travertine monument with relief sculpting & the national site for the remembrance of WWII.
The hurler and the buses
The stunning mural of a hurler on the wall of a house on Anglesea Street and South Terrace stands watching passing traffic on a cold January evening. The mural by Dublin artist ACHES is amazing to look at during the day but I liked how the hurler is just visible between these passing buses. You…
I’m the guard dog
Woof! A very good girl guarding a cafe in Amsterdam in 2011.
Wake UP America
A protestor on the streets of San Francisco in July 2007. I wonder what that man thought of the Obama and Trump years? Edit: Alex posted a photo of the same man back in 2007 on his blog. That was a fun photowalk.
The Rain in Portugal
The rain in Portugal falls mainly on the umbrellas. Hopefully anyway.
Please keep your distance
Covid-19 precautions in a Dunnes Stores at the cash registers. Dealing with us, the public, is hard enough in normal times. In Covid times it must be absolutely awful.
Fog in the Light
A street light shines through the fog on a gloomy night recently. Many parts of the country had fog warnings but for someone on foot it lent a mysterious feel to ordinary scenes.
I’m a SHOW boy
April 2006 and the Grand Parade was the scene of some merriment. Food and produce stalls were erected and entertainers entertained. Note that they’re standing on the road? Now they’d be on the large pavement on the library side of the road!
Rukos Skateboard Air Time
Catching the air on a Rukos skateboard in Emmett Place, Cork. September 2005. I published a few more photos here a couple of years ago. You’ll recognise the skateboarder in one or two of the images!
The Ruins of Lebowskis
Lebowskis on Marlboro Street in 2005. The Spyglass Tavern is now in this building I think if Google Maps is up to date. I wasn’t ever in Lebowskis and haven’t visited the Spyglass Tavern either. Edit: The Atlas Bar is in that building now, not the Spyglass Tavern.
