A selfie with the Eiffel Tower
A woman poses for a selfie in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. There’s rain in the air and others are sheltering under umbrellas. I have my camera out on a tripod to take photos, of course!
Don’t look back
A woman on her phone looks over her shoulder at some commotion, off camera, that has caught her attention. We’ll never know what.
The Marina will be improved
A cyclist on the Marina in Cork reads a sign showing some of the improvements to be expected as work progresses on improving that road and the surrounding.
Hungry for Ramen
The very colourful Buga Ramen in Valencia is eye catching. The food is really nice there too, but you might have to wait at busy times!
An umbrella in the rain
Sometimes all you need is an umbrella. When it’s raining, it’s the best thing.
The Lights to the Church
Christmas lights line a wall heading to Abbeystrewry Church in Skibereen, Co Cork. Brightening up a dull, overcast, day with a cheery glow.
Sweep away the old year
2023 is almost over here in Ireland. How’s 2024 in Australia? Let’s say goodbye to what has been a mixed year and hope for a better 2024. Happy new year! Edit a short while later: I shouldn’t have asked about Australia. They’re suffering from a terrible heatwave of 49.5℃!
Lionel Richie hates this one trick
There’s no ceiling on this building. For the younger reader, watch. 🙂 This long derelict building in Skibereen is an unfortunate eyesore that’s surrounded by a lively town, and shops and buildings decorated for the Christmas season. It stands opposite the entrance to the lovely Abbeystrewry Church and nearby Aldi. I went back in time…
The Blue Tuk Tuk
A blue tuk tuk driving along in front of the blue Court of Appeal of Lisbon in Portugal. I wonder how comfortable they are on those cobbles?
Michael Collins and the Big Wheel
I was out and about with friends from Blarney Photography Club on Thursday night, and we got some great shots of the big wheel on Grand Parade. This year the big wheel is joined by a statue of the Big Fellah, Michael Collins. Check out Henry’s photo here.
The Big Wheel Portal
This Ferris Wheel or Big Wheel is a portal to a new world. Look carefully, and you can see Cork at the end of the portal. Check out Henry and Nuala’s photos from last night: Henry, Nuala 1, and Nuala 2.
NAF1 in Lisbon
Nobody knows who NAF1 is, but in my research I did find a Portuguese company called NAF. Seems they’re involved in real estate and probably not a fan of graffiti. I don’t imagine this man is either.
