Two for the price of one! The Ferris Wheel on Grand Parade has grown a twin! Thanks, Henry, for the inspiration. Here is his double photo.
Lights along the River Lee a couple of weeks ago when I joined Henry and Vivien for some photography. Henry got a fabulous shot of the wheel. I’ll be posting some more shots of this over the next few days.
The Samuel Beckett Bridge in Dublin and the lights of the Convention Centre Dublin fight for attention. Red and Green lights reflect off the River Liffey on a warm October evening earlier this year.
Last June I visited The Coventry Music Museum. It’s a wonderful experience for anyone who knows anything about Ska music. After hearing the sad news that Terry Hall passed away I had to dig up these photos for you. There were so many nice messages on Mastodon this morning on the #TerryHall hashtag I think…
First up is Hoppy. She’s around 13 and only has three legs but she’s a fast mover. In the past she didn’t mind the cold but now she likes to avoid it. Here’s Mommy Cat. She’s Hoppy’s mom. She’s around 16 as best we can guess, as she was around for a few years before…
Gardai enter a shop on Grafton Street, late one evening in October this year. Their uniforms match the bright yellow shop colours.
A Garda car speeds past with lights flashing outside Trinity in Dublin a few weeks back. Rain made the evening miserable, but I had an umbrella and there were still loads of people about.
The “Nollaig Shona Duit” signs at both ends of St. Patrick’s Street in Cork are all lit up again this year.
Walking by the sea front in Youghal on a freezing Sunday afternoon.
The Ferris wheel on Grand Parade in Cork on a freezing December evening. The whole scene is twisted upside down in a small crystal ball. Thanks Henry for all the help, and the crystal ball!
The shell of the R&H Hall office in Cork Docklands today. It went up in flames on November 23rd, following a fire in the main R&H Hall building on November 10th. It’s not the first time this block has been damaged by fire. In 2006, grain silos that stood next to this office were damaged…
Following on from yesterday’s photo of the new lighthouse in Howth Harbour is this one of the original lighthouse. It sits at the mouth of the harbour and according to Wikipedia was built in the early 19th century.
