After photographing the National Space Centre on a dark January evening I turned around and spotted this silhouette. Luckily, there wasn’t much of a wind blowing, but we were lucky. A chill wind blew in a few minutes later.
When you visit the Eiffel Tower, you’ll see the massive Jardin de la Tour Eiffel stretch off into the distance. In warm weather, the gardens are thronged with people in the evenings who gather to watch the Eiffel Tower light up.
This photo was shot on one such evening. The night was calm, and warm and it was lovely to be out.
Shortly after I sat down at my desk this morning, I looked out the window to see quite a beautiful sunrise lighting up the sky.
The top of the sky was a cool blue, moving to dark cloud lower down, then melting to a lovely orange and yellow colour before the sun rose over the distant hill.
One afternoon while we were in Valencia we visited the Museu de les Ciències PrÃncipe Felipe on hire bikes. There were huge crowds there, taking selfies and hanging around, but with a long 20-second exposure they all (mostly) disappear into a blur. In the photo above you’ll also see the Pont l’Assut de l’Or bridge and CaixaForum in the background and, of course, the clear blue sky.
Early one morning in Valencia, before the sun rose, I travelled to the Museu de les Ciències PrÃncipe Felipe to photograph the area.
Pictured above is the CaixaForum next door, with the graceful arch of the Pont l’Assut de l’Or bridge in front of it. They are reflected in the waters surrounding the science museum. The sun is just about to peek over the horizon, but some high-level clouds helped light the scene in lovely purples.
Technically, this is a vertical panorama and I wish I had more space as the converging lines of my perspective can be seen in the leaning buildings to the left. Maybe I should have removed them?
It’s a serious problem all over the world. Crows are walking on people. In Cork, they put up signs hoping to discourage the crows, but instead the crows just walk on the signs.
Clouds in the sky are lit up by the sun after it has set. They’re a vivid red thanks to the light travelling through the thick atmosphere just beyond the horizon.
