The 96FM Fugitive is a character listeners of Cork radio station 96FM watch out for as DJs on the radio station give out clues as to his whereabouts. Find him and you’ll win a cash prize!
A few weeks ago they told people he was in Blarney and I was asked at least three times if I was the fugitive. OK, I hadn’t shaved that morning yet but did I really look that suspicious?

A new “Love Hate Social Club tattoo shop” opened in Cork today with a bang, or at least a party. There was a big crowd outside from 6pm on waiting to get in and join the party.
I hadn’t a notion what was going on, and still don’t except it has something to do with a reality tv show called Miami Ink. Must have a few fans in Cork, or maybe they knew there was free booze? 😉

“This will change everything he thought”. Err, no. It won’t.
Billboards like this sprang up near the Elysian in Cork in 2007 and later as construction of that building continued. Well. It didn’t change anything except that the country went into recession and the building is mostly empty even now.
Some nice photos here from when they had an open day in late 2008.
Graffiti on a St Patrick Street, Cork. A couple embraces and kisses forever lost in each other.
First time shooting on the street with the Canon 6D. I set up C1, one of the custom settings with the following:
1. Enable auto ISO and limit it to 100-128000.
2. Set the minimum shutter speed to 1/125.
3. Use medium RAW.
This should help me get sharp images, at the expense of more noise. It helped sometimes but at other times shooting from the hip was too much and the swing of my arm didn’t help matters. I culled about half of the images I took and I’ll probably delete more as I go over them again tomorrow.
The Telecom Club on McCurtain Street, Cork.
Telecom Éireann was the state telecoms monopoly until other companies came into the country some years ago but in it’s current state, Éircom, they still own most (all?) the copper phone lines that go into homes here.
I’m not sure of the history of the Telecom Club in Cork, but I have been in there. A few years ago I took Spanish classes there for about 3 months until my interest waned. Don’t take that for a sign of how you’ll do with your new year’s resolutions. 🙂

Moore’s Hotel on Morrison’s Quay, a former hotel that is now up for rent. I’d never been in there when it was a hotel but did meet an interesting man who worked there. The woo was strong in that one!
Edit: mouse over the image. Trying to do a before and after thing. Do you like it?
