Montmorency Falls

You'll find Montmorency Falls just outside Quebec City in Canada. They're an imposing sight, visible from the highway and by foot you can almost reach the base of the falls. Bring a coat and protect your camera because you'll be soaked by spray! Remember that Balloon Boy story last week? People have been searching for...

County Hall and the Chimney

Cork County Hall, as seen from a nearby hill in Sunday's Well. Argh! I hate coming up with blog post titles.

Wind Power

Wind turbines dot the landscape here and there. Shot in West Cork last year.

Wait For Me!

A pigeon in Cork, somewhere. I'm in Quebec. It's raining a bit but hopefully I'll get out this morning for a look around. Luggage still hasn't arrived, but someone rang at 2am to say it would be delivered here. Yay.

Parked Cars on South Mall

Cars parked on South Mall, Cork. The financial district of the city.

Páirc Uí Chaoimh

Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Blackrock, Cork. It's named after Pádraig Ó Caoimh (no relation), "a native of Roscommon, this War of Independence veteran became secretary of the Cork County Board at 21, and he began a 35-year stint as General-Secretary of the GAA barely a decade later"(ref) Michael Jackson and U2 have both played here...

St Patrick and the Volkswagen

A Volkswagen Beetle parked across the road from St. Patrick's Catholic Church on the Lower Glanmire Road in Cork. The church was built in 1840. The car, not so old. Shot on the recent photowalk in the city.

Blarney Sunrise

Sunrise, as seen from my home office here in Blarney about 3 weeks ago. The weather was great in September. Much better than it was in August.

North Cathedral Framed

The North Cathedral, Cork as seen from a window of St. Anne's Tower or Shandon Bells.

Good night?

No matter what state the economy, the pubs are still full and there's plenty of drinking.

Cobh in Black and White

A dump of the b/w images I shot in Cobh over the weekend. It was a strictly "stroll around and do nothing" day (so sorry Conor for not calling in!) as Adam was being minded by my sister. As I said a few days ago, I shot everything in black and white and I'm pleased...

Patrick’s Hill Cat

A white cat that lives at the top of Patrick's Hill, taken very near to where this was taken many years before. Lots more Life photos of Cork too. Many of recognisable locations.
