The Silesian Insurgents’ Monument in Katowice, Poland stands next to a roundabout and a large building called KTW and The Spodek. KTW was only completed in 2022, and if you look at the city in Google Maps you’ll see a construction site there. The monument was erected in 1967.

Last year I visited Auschwitz and Birkenau. A harrowing experience, and not one I want to repeat, but now, more than ever, these places should be visited.

The Spodek is an arena in the city of Katowice, Poland. Several weeks ago, the band Korn played to a packed out audience, and a few days later I returned to photograph it and the passing traffic.
