La Scala Movements
A simple ICM photo of the La Scala logo in Crosshaven. A little experiment made a few months ago when Blarney Photography Club visited the town.
2023 Fireworks on Spike Island
Last night I attended the 85th Birthday Celebrations & Commemorations on Spike Island in Cork Harbour. Eagle-eyed readers will already have seen the fireworks photo I posted to this page yesterday. Readers with even better eye sight will have noticed that I replaced the image I uploaded yesterday with a slightly different version today. Call…
Fireworks on Spike Island
Fireworks lit up the sky above Spike Island this evening! Posting this from the island.
Red 6
No 6 in Kinsale recently. I loved the red colour and the contrasting white/cream door and windows.
The Old Bank House of Kinsale
The Old Bank House, or Old Bank Townhouse is a 5 star hotel, right at the busiest junction in Kinsale. I’ve walked past there loads of times, drove past there more times, but I never noticed the 5 star designation. The Homes of Kinsale
If you’ve been to Kinsale you’ll be familiar with the centre of town but behind those businesses are the homes of local residents, stretching up towards the top of the hill. It’s a lovely town, full of history and of course great food, so well worth a visit. 🙂
A Swallow Murmuration
Swallows flew back and forth in a group, known as a murmuration. This was a small one but impressive still!
Tracks in the field
The tracks left behind by a tractor in a field of corn in Ballycroneen, Co Cork.
The Crow and the Swallow
A crow stands on top of a pole as a swallow flies past him. Those swallows are really hard to photograph, so I zoomed in on the top of the pole and just watched the pole, without looking through the camera. When I saw a swallow fly close, I hit the shutter button hoping burst…
Horse is a picky eater
Down by Garrettstown Beach in Co Cork I spotted a horse in a field. He was by himself and I went over to say hi, and take his photo. He’s obviously had enough of people taking his photo, or maybe he ate something unpleasant, to judge by the look on his face. 🙂
Construction Cranes on Horgan’s Quay
Back in 2019, and Horgan’s Quay was in the middle of development. Cranes were overhead, and the whole place was a building site.
Shadows and Sun
We were walking out towards Hussey’s Folly outside Dingle when I looked across Dingle Harbour and saw the sunlight travel across the opposite headland as clouds moved away. I love seeing light and shadow on a landscape so I grabbed a few quick shots.
