Frozen Water
Waves crashing on the beach at Couminole on Slea Head in County Kerry. Not all frozen water is cold.
Where you’ll find Fianna Fail
In years to come they’ll talk about the Fianna Fail posters of 2009. This was the year when many party members chose to hide the name “Fianna Fail” on their posters. You’d have to go right up to them to see that damned name. One suspects they’re probably embarrassed by their association with Fianna Fail,…
Hillside Chains
Rusted chains lie on the ground near the walkway to the Mizen Head Lighthouse. Just saw Star Trek. In my head it was the best thing since sliced bread but it was still a great film. Loved the little nods to the original series. Definitely worth going to see!
Thatched Roof in Bunratty
A thatched roof on one of the cottages in Bunratty Folk Park, County Clare. There’s one ugly open mine right next door but it’s well hidden. I had no idea it was there until I checked Google Maps a minute ago!
House with a sea view
For sale: house with a sea view on beautiful, scenic cliffs in West Cork. Perfect starter home. No, not really. It’s only a tiny little hut above the cliffs at Mizen Head in County Cork.
Market Avenue
Market Avenue in the centre of Cork City is a tiny little street behind An Brog pub. You know, just outside the fish section of the English Market.
MINI Awards
An original MINI, with awards and plaques on it’s grill at Charles Fort near Kinsale last March.
David Rowell & Co

Oscar on the Shaky Bridge
Oscar, our Shih Tzu, on the Shaky Bridge just outside Fitzgerald’s Park in Cork. I think he prefers solid ground!
Dunnes Stores in Ruins
The skeleton of the Dunnes Stores building on Patrick’s Street lies in ruins as building work continued to refurbish it. Taken in September 2007, Brian took a shot of the building a few days ago in much better state! Places are still available for the Cork City Photowalk on July 18th! Please leave comments on…
Cab 3181
San Francisco will be the gathering place for a large number of WordPress fans at the end of the month as they go to the 2009 San Francisco WordCamp. I won’t be there unfortunately but places are already in short supply, if not all sold out at this stage. It’s going to be a blast!…
Nature invades our spaces
Nature starts to reclaim the works of man as soon as he turns his back. It’s inevitable as this photo of the steps up to a house in Sunday’s Well shows. My own garden is the picture of neat and tidy lawn without a single blade of grass out of place. I wish!
