Outstretched Wings
A crow lifts off from the pole he was standing on, with his wings spread out to glide down.
Flying over fields
Another one of a swallow flying near Ballycroneen Beach recently. You’ll recognise the field in the background from a recent photo!
Swallows fly fast!
Swallows fly really fast and they’re difficult to photograph in flight, so when I managed to catch this one in flight I had to share both. As I was advised by Rory, I didn’t zoom in which made it easier to catch them crossing the scene. On my Sony camera I set it to wide…
Tracks in the field
The tracks left behind by a tractor in a field of corn in Ballycroneen, Co Cork.
Emma Lou in Ballycotton
Some of the boats in Ballycotton a few weeks ago when Blarney Photography Club visited. A trawler with the name Emma Lou was in the foreground, but also visible were smaller boats, and the local search and rescue boat that had just arrived.
The Crow and the Swallow
A crow stands on top of a pole as a swallow flies past him. Those swallows are really hard to photograph, so I zoomed in on the top of the pole and just watched the pole, without looking through the camera. When I saw a swallow fly close, I hit the shutter button hoping burst…
A break from the guitar
A man takes a break from playing the guitar on Winthrop Street, Cork. It was July 2019, so probably warm and maybe humid, so his bare feet won’t have been cold.
Chatting to the bus driver
I was walking along the street and noticed this man, standing by the door of a bus. I think it was stopped at traffic lights. Did you notice he’s being watched by another bus driver?
Horse is a picky eater
Down by Garrettstown Beach in Co Cork I spotted a horse in a field. He was by himself and I went over to say hi, and take his photo. He’s obviously had enough of people taking his photo, or maybe he ate something unpleasant, to judge by the look on his face. 🙂
Wind Blown Clouds
Looking up from the rocks in Ballycotton I spotted this house and magnificent clouds overhead. The wind was blowing hard up there high in the sky and the clouds moved visibly as I watched. It didn’t take me long to realise I needed to photograph it!
Construction Cranes on Horgan’s Quay
Back in 2019, and Horgan’s Quay was in the middle of development. Cranes were overhead, and the whole place was a building site.
The Flag in the Window
A Ukrainian flag in a window in Ballycotton. It was getting dark, a perfect time to try some Intentional Camera Movement.
