Mounted Police in Chicago
Mounted police in Chicago direct crowds along a street after the fireworks.
Families in the crowd
Kids and grown-ups waiting for the July 4th fireworks in Chicago many years ago. The kids in this photo are in their twenties now.
Crowds at Lake Michigan
Crowds gathered on the shore of Lake Michigan with the Chicago skyline behind it to watch the July 4th fireworks.
Don’t walk, cycle, take a taxi
You can’t walk, you better cycle or take a taxi.
An evening above Dunquin Pier
Dunquin Pier at the end of the Dingle Peninsula sits below a steep grassy cliff. Last year I saw three teenage girls sitting on the edge of the cliff you can see in this photo. I got dizzy just looking at them but they weren’t in (much) danger. There’s a step below where many feet…
Grace O’Malley in Cork
Training ship Grace O’Malley docked in Cork recently.
The Three Sisters at Sunset
The Three Sisters on the Dingle Peninsula just as the sun sets.
Early Morning Mist
Mist and fog (the same thing?) gather in the hollows of an early morning last week near Blarney.
Hank and Ray in Charlies Bar
Hank Wedel and Ray Barron in Charlies Bar last night. There wasn’t a huge crowd but the music was oh so good. So good to hear Hank and Ray play again as we haven’t been in Charlies since before the pandemic started.
The waves of Owenahincha
Waves crash off shore at Owenahincha Beach.
Where the bikes go
Walking across a bridge in Chicago I noticed all the bikes that were thrown up on the railing next to the river. As good a place as any if there’s no decent bike parking to be had nearby.
The Ceiling of the Pantheon
Look straight up from the centre of the Pantheon to see the magnificent ceiling above you.
