Green Light Go

One more from last week. This time, the long exposure shot is of a bus heading to Parnell Place in Cork. The traffic light had just turned green, so the bus was driving slowly, accelerating as it went. It made a colourful impression on the digital sensor of my camera!

Light Trails on Eamon de Valera Bridge

Evening traffic whizzes past last week. Just after the sun had set, but the street light above my head hadn’t come on yet, so I got a nice long exposure.

How does photography affect your memory? Interesting podcast episode.

Night Shifts and Trailing Lights

Construction signs on Parnell Bridge in front of Cork City Hall were lit up by a passing bus a few nights ago.

Steel Wool Spinning at Night

Spinning flaming steel wool around creates fiery trails in the air. Thanks Henry, for this photo I took in 2015!

All lit up in pink

The Parnell Place Bus Station in Cork is lit up from below by pink lighting. It’s a long exposure shot and a vehicle drove past during the shot.

I wanted to get this shot and make sure that the red brick chimney to the far left was visible as it’s the most prominent part of a factory and industrial buildings that used to sit on that block. Some surrounding buildings were demolished in recent years. Apparently, they date from the 1920s.

Light trails under the High Street Bridge

Cars go up and down the South Link Road underneath the High Street Bridge in Cork.

The bridge was built in 1984, to replace another bridge that crossed the Bandon railway line that stood there since 1850!

The Ferris Wheel and the Crystal Ball

The Ferris wheel on Grand Parade in Cork on a freezing December evening. The whole scene is twisted upside down in a small crystal ball.

Thanks Henry for all the help, and the crystal ball!

The Road to Femés

Every time I go to Lanzarote I like to photograph the road coming from Playa Blanca to Femés. It leads to a very steep hill that some cars have problems with. Our hired car included, as it was very underpowered!

If you look carefully you’ll see the ghostly image of a car near the pole in the foreground of this image. They stopped for a good few seconds before successfully getting to the top of the hill.
